Journalists with a proven interest in how sports are run can apply for this free training.
The Thomson Reuters Foundation is offering a course on investigative sports reporting Dec. 16 to 20 in Nairobi, Kenya.
The course will cover investigative techniques, storytelling approaches and more, focusing on the business side of sports.
Participants will work on a specific story idea during the workshop. They will then receive editorial guidance and mentoring support to produce their stories.
Applicants must be based in an African country and working for a domestic media outlet.
The organizer will provide transportation and subsistence subsidies as well as modest funding to help cover the costs of reporting their story.
The deadline is Oct. 28.
